Brief Description: Instalation of fuel drain covers
Four (4) fuel drain covers were fitted and bonded to rebated areas on lower surface of outter wings. Some trimming was required to have covers fit within rebated areas. Hole had to be drilled through the center to allow strain bolt installation later. Also, covers are held in place during cure with temporary bolt as shown in pictures 2 and 3.
Once all covers fitted properly, all contact surfaces were sanded and then cleaned with Acetone. Mixture of Jeffco resin and flox was used to bond caps in place. Pieces of wooden string sticks were used to keep edges of the covers down by bonding them temporarily with contact cement as shown in picture 2.
Upon cure, excess resin/ was sanded to produce 'ready for paint' finish.
