Brief Description:  Preparing elevator surfaces for bonding and counte

All bonding surfaces have been sanded with 40 grit. Trim tab servo was removed from left elevator to simplify closing out process. Counterweights P/N 4457-01, Left and Right (different size) had to be bonded in elevators for future balancing purpose. In order to have them fitted in place they were cut in half width-wise. All bonding surfaces have been abraded with 40 grit. Bonding surface has been wetted with Jeffco resin first and then mixture of same resin and flox was used to bond weights in place. While resin/flox mixture was setting, two ribs were made from some 2-core-2 composite sandwich panel. These were bonded 1/2" aft from counterweights and their purpose is to form a chamber for future addition of weight if and when required. Again, bonding surface has been sanded and ribs have been bonded in place with resin/flox mixture. While bonding mixture was still tacky, 2 layers of fiberglass cloth cut on bias (BID tape) have been placed in between and up against counter weight and rib.
