So I spent the whole of yesterday upgrading the spray booth, was a massive effort but very well worth the effort for todays results. I am not going to include the time I spent on tooling and workshop setup for the build, as I just want to track the time working with the aircraft parts.
I focussed on all the internal structure components of the horizontal stabiliser, most of the time was spent cleaning and cleaning the aluminium prior to the prime. Which includes degreasing the surface, followed by the acid etch. They are then blown dry and left to completely dry out and cool down in the spray room.
I managed to get the spray room down to 25 degrees Celsius, that combined with the paint slightly thinned yielded excellent results on the prime. The Components look absolutely great! Really happy with the outcome! I did todays priming in two batches, so I could keep track of right vs left etc.
Will do the skins and the last of the ribs tomorrow, and then onto riveting!
