I finished the air inlet ramp construction today and test fit them on the engine. After I get the rest of the cowling fit and hinges installed, I will glass them into their final position. Quite a few builders have had the lower hinges on the cowl fail at the eyelets in a couple hundred hours. The consensus is to remove the two lower hinges and install a solid .063 aluminum plate and use screws with nut plates. It will take a little longer to remove the bottom cowling, but fixing it now is lots better then fixing it later. I did get the cowling aft hinges drilled and clecoed. I still need to drill the four screws at the air inlet as well as set the side hinges.
