...Rewired auto-changeover wires on switch as the diagram I had received was backwards. Robert asked me to operate the switch upside down and it behaved properly. He revised the drawings to preclude future customers this extra grief. It was to the point our frustration was excessive as nothing worked, which in retrospect makes sense.
