Brief Description:  Multiple Tasks

1200 - 1830

Multiple tasks were accomplished today.

Calibrate fuel pump pressure sensor. This sensor monitors the fuel pressure and switches from pump 1 to pump 2 in the event of low fuel pressure. The adjustment pot on the bus manager is a 20 turn pot. The first step was to adjust it so that pump 1 would run. Next, pump 2 c/b was pulled while pump 1 was running. This allowed a verifiable point when pump 1 would transfer to pump 2; pump 1 would stop running. While pump 1 was running, the pressure regulator was adjusted to it's minimum setting of 25 psi. The pot was then adjusted so that pump 1 would transfer at 25 psi. The flow was then restricted to lower the pressure further. The pot was adjusted so the transfer should occur at approximately 20 - 22 psi. The pressure regulator was then reset to 35 psi static, as recommended in the manual. An operational check of the circuit was conducted by powering the system, switching to pump 2 then back to pump1 auto and noting the indications on the EFII controller. Next, the pump 1 c/b was pulled and the tranfer to pump 2 was noted.

Install CF panel on left side of center console. Panel was removed to acces adjustment pot on the bus manager.

Small modification to wingtip rib to facilitate installing and adjusting the ER tank vents without removing the tanks. A small slot was made in the tip rib to allow access to the AN vent fittings with a wrench. Standard techniques were used.

Secured fuel quantity sensor wiring in wing roots with tie wraps.

Installed interior cosmetic door handles. Verified operation.

Installed lower cowl "platypus" fairing.

Install right control stick into base with recommended hardware.

Configured Volts 1 & 2 in the G3X.
