At this point I realized that my 90 angle drill attachment was inop. I think one of the bevel gears is broken. There is not enough room between the drill and fuselage side to final drill the inboard holes, and it turns out that the 12" long, #19 drill that I ordered is really a #15. Not wanting to wait on ordering another long bit, I fabricated an extension for a jobber length #19 drill using a piece of 1/4" steel rod. I chucked the rod in the Smithy, center bored a #19 hole, inserted a #19 drill, and peened the rod to secure the bit. Worked perfectly.
