Started riveting nose and top skins to the aileron spar. I determined that a number of machine counter sunk holes in the spar were slightly over sized. To ensure adequate rivet security the rivet holes were drilled out to 1/8" and NCCA1096 rivets were installed. This was do on both sides of the spar. Inital riveting resulted in dents on the top skin when the mushroom set tipped off the over lapping nose skin. To resolve this problem a scrap piece of sheet aluminum was placed on top of the top skin and butted up to the nose skin. This provided a flat surface for the mushroom set.
