While working on the firewall this morning I realised that the engine control cables might not be the only things affected by the new nose gear design. I noticed that the fuel line might also be compromised.
I decided to test fit the fuel line and was very releived to see that there is a small clearance gap, maybe just 1/8", between the fuel line sheath and the shock absorber cap. It's only a small gap, but a gap nonetheless, so I think this will be okay.
With the fuel line in place I also took the opportunity to mark it up for shortening. This standard line is meant to run from the firewall straight to the engine driven fuel pump, however I'm fitting a red cube fuel flow sensor in between, so the fuel line needs to be modified (shortened) to suit. I'll see if the local Enzed guys can do this for me.
I test fitted the firewall forward fuel line, to see how it fit with the new nose gear design
Just enough clearance
The Vans-supplied fuel line will need to be shortened to suit the red cube flow sensor
