Brief Description:  1: Wing Wiring

With the wires from each wing all terminated into terminal strip, today was spent connecting it all into the aircraft systems. I already had power and ground wires run down to the right wing root, so all I had to do was interconnect this with the left wing wires, and terminate at each side. Easier said than done, due to the cramped space, but all completed nonetheless.

I did have to resort to solder splicing some wires. For example, the landing light power wire from the VP-X is 14AWG. I needed to terminate this into the terminal strip at the right wing root, then run a second wire from that terminal, across the fuselage, and into the left wing terminal strip. Although I could drop the interconnecting wire down to 18AWG, having the two wires in the one terminal was still too much for the terminal. Instead I made a solder splice in the 14AWG wire and covered it with heatshrink. This then resulted in just one wire in each terminal. I did this for a few of the wires.
