Brief Description: 2: Mounting the Vertical Stabiliser
With the Vertical Stabiliser clamped in place I could then start match drilling all the bolt and rivet holes that hold it to the fuselage.
The rear spar attach bolts were very difficult to get to. I ended up putting my right angle drill attachment into my right angle drill so that I could get down inside the rear tail cone piece and drill the holes.
With the rear spar drilled and bolted temporarily, I could then set and drill the front spar to the spar attach plate. I was interested to note that the vertical stabiliser is mounted slightly off centre at the front. The leading edge is about 10mm to the left. I've never noticed that before on any planes, but spelled out quite clearly in the instructions.
Drilling the VS rear spar attach bolts was a bugger. I had a right angle drill on a right angle drill
