Well, I am back in Ohio after my trip to Tucson and can't delay the RV-8's fuel tank fabrication any longer. It's time to face the music and begin the prosealing process.
I began this session by scotchbriting the areas where the tank stiffeners, the fuel filler flange, and the drain fitting will be installed. All mating surfaces were roughed up to enhance adhesion. All surfaces were wiped clean with MEK. The rivets to be used were also cleaned with MEK. All the required materials and tools were assembled to expedite the process once the sealant was mixed and the assembly started.
