Brief Description:  Begin initial assembly of right flap

The first task this morning was to find some scrap aluminum and test my pneumatic squeezer using the instructions and information found on Cleaveland Tool's website. Their instructions included a table of rivet set gaps to be used on the CP-214 type riveter for both 3/32" and 1/8" rivets up to -7s. The squeezer seems to work ok using their numbers so I may be back on track. I will know more when I get to the 1/8" rivets on the right flap.

I decided to spend today preparing all the components for the right flap. By the end of the day, all the parts had been initially assembled and match drilled. This includes fabrication of the brackets, cutting the hinges, fabricating the hinge pins and pin retainer, and machine countersinking the forward flap spar. The flap was then disassembled in preparation for deburring, dimpling, and edge dressing. I should be able to get both the right and left flaps ready to rivet during my next shop session.

I will have to check Connie's schedule to see when she can help with the riveting. I could probably do the riveting on the flaps alone but I think the results will be better with two sets of hands, one for the bucking bar and one for the gun.
