Brief Description:  Warbird Skyventures

As a Christmas gift just before I retired, Connie bought me an hour of flight time in a T-6 that was to visit one of the local airports when the weather turned warm. The plane was owned and operated by Ms. Gina Moore of Warbird Skyventures based in Gallatin, Tennessee. When flight day arrived the weather was IFR in Dayton so I had to fly down to Lexington, Kentucky to catch up with the plane and pilot. No problem, I can't think of a better excuse to drag the Archer out and burn some avgas. Connie and I along with another friend piled in the Archer and off we went.

The weather was good in Lexington and I got a full hour of T-6 time, some just cruising the area and some doing classic aerobatic maneuvers. It was incredible. I really envy the warbird owners that get to fly these airplanes on a regular basis. I wonder if they know how truly fortunate they are.

Following the T-6 flight we checked the weather and made a quick departure to get ahead of an approaching storm. We had to deviate a bit coming home to avoid some scattered showers but we arrived in Dayton in plenty of time to get the plane hangared before the really bad weather moved into the area.

An absolutely great day!
