Brief Description: Fiberglass stiffeners and port lens
Finished countersinking the landing light lens for the port wingtip. Next, I cut enough pieces of foam insulation to fabricate stiffeners for the wingtips. Current plan is to attach two stiffeners on the inside top and bottom surfaces of the tips. One stiffener will be about the middle of the tip and the second will be about where the aileron attaches. The stiffeners will be installed parallel with the span of the wing and will be about 3" in width (forward one about 12" and rear about 10").
Using a heavy weave glass cloth I layed one thickness on the surface of the foam and covered with peel-ply. Tomorrow I will add one layer of cloth to the reverse side sandwiching the foam. Hopefully, the stiffener will be stiff but not too stiff.
