Brief Description:  Began wingtip mounting - port wing

Began the day by trimming the edge of the wingtips to about 1/2" (distance from inset to raw edge). This should allow the tip to be inserted inside the wing skin without butting up against the end rib. I had to trim a bit more off at the rear of the tip to clear the aileron bracket (just enough to clear, final trim will be done a bit later.

The tip was inserted and match drilled to the wing skins. The top surface looks good but the bottom doesn't butt all the way up to the inset ledge. To make a perfect fit will require some filling. Also a little filler wouldn't hurt on the leading edge either. The fit is good there but not perfect.

Next thing to do will be to trim for the aileron and check the match between the tip and the aileron at neutral. If there is a significant mismatch I don't know what the solution will be. Hate to think of reworking the wingtip!
