Brief Description: Aileron tube and hardware for right aileron
Immediate task for today was to install the push/pull tube between the aileron and the bellcrank. A bracket was supplied by Van's to get the proper length on the tube. After setting the aileron to neutral the actuator tube was adjusted to the correct length using Van's supplied bracket. The jam nuts were snugged and torque seal applied.
Next task on the schedule was to make some braces for the sawhorses I am using to hold the wings. The sawhorses are some steel folding units from Lowes and I am not completely happy with their stability. I would hate to damage a wing due to a collapsing sawhorse. Anyway, I picked up some wood and metal stock to fabricate braces for the sawhorse legs. A picture is supplied for clarity. They are now stable and can be trusted.
Finally, I gathered the hardware and fabricated the necessary buyshings for mounting the second aileron and the actuator tubes from the cranks to the stiick.
