Brief Description:  Fiberglass work on tips

The tips for the stabs require some filler on the foam plugs epoxied in place earlier. You may recall the foam plugs were covered with some glass cloth but the structure still needs some filler to get the previously open end flush with the rest of the structure

I had planned to try an automotive filler but decided to use a product from Aircraft Spruce called SuperFill. Superfill is an epoxy product that is the aircraft equivalent of Bondo. I mixed up a batch and applied it to the three tips (horiz and vert stab parts). The filler went on reasonably well but I can see that an additional application will be required to get the surface flush after sanding.

Last task for the day was to prepare the insides of the wheel pants for some cloth layups over the areas that will get countersunk screws and rivets. This is recommended in the plans to strengthen the structure. After prep, I mixed up some resin and did three layers of cloth in the areas mentioned. I covered then layups with peel ply.
