I sanded the fliberglass tips that were previsouly prepared with Superfil. As expected, the surface will require some additional material to get the surface flush with the reset of the structure. This time I tried something different. I mixed up some cotton fiber (flox) with the resin and applied it on top of the Superfil. So, I have now experimented with glass cloth and resin, SuperFil, and resin with flox.
I riveted the fiberglass tips to the elevators today after iinstalling the appropriate screws, washers, and on the counterweights. The forward part of the tips must be epoxied to the lead weights.
