Brief Description:  Continued work on the instrument panel

Finally decided to try the clear coat on the instrument panel a second time. Thankfully, this attempt worked with no wrinkling of the paint. I applied my newly registered N number and put two thin coats of satin clear on the panel. I was careful to keep the layers thin and placed the painted panels in front of a fan immediately upon spraying. My thinking was to avoid any "pooling" of the clear coat that might allow it to soften the underlying paint. For whatever reason, it went on fine and the panel sections look good for now.

After a little dring time I began mounting the instruments and indicator lights back in the panel with stainless socket head screws. It's looking good I think. I need to pick up a couple screws tomorrow and then should be able to mount the Narco VOR/ILS and the glove box. I also want to spend a little time cleaning the face of the Garmin GPS that will be mounted in the center slot. The port slot will hold a King transponder.

When everything is mounted I will take another picture showing the complete panel.
