Brief Description: Completed some interior features
I finished up the storage compartment for the starboard side of the fuselage just under the arm rest. I had an extra flush mounted paddle latch that matches other latches used for the interior so it was installed in the door. I also cut the mounting hole in the rear stick cover that was fabricated earlier. I used a 2" hole saw to make the cut after grinding down the outer circumference to remove the set on the teeth.
I just couldn't get the large eyeball vent to fit so I went with the smaller vent purchased earlier for possible use in the forward cockpit area. If it doesn't provide enough air I may have to make another cover that will accommodate the large vent. Frankly, there is so little room between the seat belt brackets and the stick, I am not sure if it's possible to make a cover that will look good. I am wondering if the earlier design of the bracket that mounts the stick control tube might have allowed more room for the vent. Oh well, maybe the smaller vent will provide the necessary air.
To finish out the evening, I primed the pieces so they will be ready for the final color coat in a day or so.
