Brief Description:  Riveting leading edge starboard wing assembly

I concentrated on the starboard wing leading edge assembly today. I completed all the riveting with the exception of the upper and lower three rivets on each rib (this is the flange area coated with sealant). I will let the sealant cure another day and then have Connie help me set the final rivets.

I also riveted the platenuts to the joint splice plate and clecoed the plate and final end rib into the leading edge assembly. I am quite pleased with the riveting on the leading edge so far and have not had to drill out even one rivet. This is probably due to more experience and the tungsten bucking bars purchased before beginning to rivet the starboard wing.

Image 3 below shows the two tungsten bars I acquired, one from Cleaveland and one from www.buckingbar.net. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have purchased these initially rather than the assorted steel bars that come with most tool kits. You could probably do the entire aircraft with either one of these bars. By the way, the tall one is 4"x5/8"x1" and the little one is 1"x1"x2". Tungsten is slightly more dense than gold so they are quite heavy. These are "must have" tools in my opinion.
