The Empanage needed the mounting holes still so I started the process of allignment and finding centers. First I drew a centerline on the top deck of the fuse and alligned them with the two halves of the HS. This was a starting point becuase I still did the "Allignment via Cross Measurements" after I clamped it down a bit.
I am not confident in measuing twice so I measured about 6 times to make sure it was straight. From side to side, it was withing a 1/64 of an Inch from each side. I tood measurments from different parts of the Fuse to the tips of the HS to verify what I was seeing.
The HS also has to be level with the Fuse so Vans Suggest to make a shim to put under one of the front sides to level it out. I started with .02 becuse it was a bit off. After temperarily bolting it in place, I then noticed that I did not need the shim after it was all tight.
I also was sure to leave the 3/16 of an inch on the aft spar above the tail deck.
all of the mounting holes are drilled and I Temp installed 2 each on the front and 2 ea on the aft spars to hold it steady so I can do the VS.
