Brief Description:  Windscreen Bow

As mentioned in a previous log, the canopy latch pin position shown in the KAI did not work well for me. I contacted the Australian Sling agent & he confirmed the factory is now installing the pin in a position further forward on the bow for 2 reasons. Firstly to prevent the rivets cracking the fibreglass & secondly to reduce the gap. I filled the holes I had made with JB-Weld & today I redrilled the bow with the centre of the 8mm hole positioned 14.5mm from the inside edge (instead of 9mm as indicated in the KAI). This position seems much better as it allows the latch to engage with a gap at the top of the bow of approximately 3mm. I'll now send the bow to Richard the painter and drill the holes for the pin fasteners when it returns. At this stage I'm considering installing 2Ga self tapping screws and JB-Weld in lieu of rivets to hold the pin in place.
