Brief Description:  Throttle Quadrant

My plan is to have the cockpit area complete before installing the windscreen as it allows much better access for someone not quite as supple as they once were! Today I covered the throttle quadrant top plate with the same carbon fibre look vinyl as on the instrument panel. I then connected the throttle cables to the lever assembly but found I had a problem. The bushes that hold the inner cable to the lever must rotate freely within the lever arms and mine did not. I had painted the lever arms years ago & now realise that was a mistake so I removed the paint in the affected areas & chamfered one side of the hole to allow clearance for the fillet radius of the "bolt bush". This combination of re-work now allows the bushes to rotate freely whilst holding the cables securely. I then re-assembled the whole thing and it is now installed complete with the parking brake valve assembly. The throttle cables are more "relaxed" when the left cable goes to the right side of the lever & vice versa so that is how I have installed them, for future reference, I made a note on the left side plate to that effect. There is still some work required however I'm very close to having the cockpit area complete.
