This log covers the last three days. Our Technical Counsellor Karl Ahamer paid a visit to the workshop on Sunday for an “official" inspection of the project. Thank you Karl & unlike PGC, I forgot to get a photograph on the day. As noted in my log of Nov 30, I have an issue with floor ribs not fitting. The last 2 weeks have seen numerous emails to & from the factory as to a cause & remedy, it turns out that the lower "c" channel of the main spar carry through is 2mm over size thereby creating my problem. This will only ever be a potential problem on a taildragger as the nosedragger is of a completely different design in this area of the floor. We have settled on my idea of installing spacers & adjusting the rib flanges as a fix so yesterday I commenced manufacturing the spacers and adjusting the ribs. Finding 2mm thick material was a challenge however I was able to source enough for the task & it has taken quite a few hours to finesse all the parts into the required shapes. Once again very frustrating to spend so much time on what should have been a very straight forward part of the build.
