Yesterday I drove to see a fibreglass fabricator hoping he could extend the side of the upper cowl for me, sadly he deals only with polyester resin & was not at all interested in helping me. I'll need to find another solution. Today I started preparing the lower cowl interior for paint, there was a lot of loose, excess resin on and around the radiator/cooler moulding where I guess there was some release agent remaining when the part was bonded to the cowl skin. Quite a few areas of splashed resin too that created lumps & bumps that would not allow the future heat shielding to lie flat so I still have lots of sanding to do.
