Brief Description:  Countersink Wing Spar

Haven't had much time to work on the plane lately. Between the new baby, an upcoming move to a new house, and the Corona Virus, time has been hectic and short. I do not have time to dedicate to working on the fuel tank, so I moved over to tasks I can accomplish with the time that I do have. So I have looked for tasks that I can accomplish and do not require extensive commitments. Countersinking the spar is one of those tasks. There are hundreds of holes that need to be countersunk on the top and the bottom of the spar on both wings to allow the leading edge, inner, outer, upper and lower skin to sit flush on the spar. Section 5 of the instructions and Van's technical counselors reccoment that the countersinks bet cut between 5-thousandths and 7-thousandths of an inch (0.005" - 0.007") deeper than the countersink for a flush rivet. After experimenting a bit I settled on a 0.006" of an inch countersink that would not be too shallow or to deep. I was able to complete two sections of the upper spar before having to stop for times sake.
