Brief Description:  Under Seat Structure

I got the box structure beneath the seat area pilot drilled in place. I'm doing the "lowered seat" mod on my Sonex, which is included in the plans. Basically plans page C06 replaces page F10 for this part of the modification. The main changes in this area are moving controls more toward the centerline, and reversing the left/right F10-13 center channel pieces so they are on the insides of the seatbelt attach brackets instead of outside.

This all went together surprisingly easily, and everything lined up very well. Most of my rivet lines were a bit offset from the centerlines of the channel flanges, but always toward the bend and not toward the endges of the flange, which I think is much more acceptable.

This looks like it might be a challenge to rivet; some people have removed the structure from the airplane, riveted on the workbench, and then put it all in place. I'm not sure if that would be better, but certainly some of the harder to reach spots can/should be done that way.
