This next riveting job made me nervous. I had read about and talked to a friend about riveting the modified inspar ribs to the front spar assembly. The area is very tight since the ribs are not perpendicular to the spar. Mike and I decided to use the cleaveland 5 1/2" cupped double offset which came with the -14A tool kit. We also used the 2 1/2" bucking bar. The angle of this tool on the one end seemed like it was made for this spot. The angle matched the angle of the inspar rib so it was fairly straight forward to keep the rivet square and not bend it over. We did have to drill out on rivet but that was from the cupped set jumping off the rivet head slightly and flattening it out. Other than that it went really smooth. We used the 3x gun at 60 psi and went slowly. Horizontal stab is now complete. On to Chpt 9 and the Elevators.
