Brief Description: Attached tail pieces to aft fuselage
I began attaching all the pieces to the aft fuselage. I used a long 1/4" drill bit to drill the bottom two holes of the HS to F1411C. I used generic nuts on all the bolts because I intend to disassemble it while working on the fuselage, wings, etc. Then I attached the VS to the HS. All the holes lined up really well but it was a little worrying to see the VS offset to the left so much. After reading the instructions further, I noticed it is supposed to be this way. And that's the reason for adding a small washer in the upper left bolt hole which acts like a shim to prevent torsion applied to the VS rear spar. After installing the rudder and elevators I only needed to make a small adjustment in the bottom rod end bearing to get the required left and right clearance between the rudder and elevators. The measurements in the manual for these rod end bearings worked really good. Now she's ready for fiberglass fairings.
