Brief Description:  Riveted rear spar and front spar to skins, and rib

Today we used the special bucking bar from Cleaveland to buck the rear spar rivets. I was nervous about how this was gonna go but it worked great. I used two layers of cardboard as shims and clamped the elevators to the bench where the trailing edge was about 3" from the end of the table. This ensured the bucking bar would contact the trailing edge as it rested on the bench. When using the bucking bar, I placed a length of 1/4" thick wood shim under the bar at the rivet so the bar wouldn't vibrate into the opposing skin. Mason worked the 3x rivet gun and held the bar using the edge of the bench as a fulcrum. This worked really well. I was pleased with the outcome. For the rivets along the forward hinge, I used the squeezer. Next up was riveting the 1000A and 1000B ribs together with the LP4-3 blind rivets. The aft two rivets were tough to get at but using my old cheap rivet gun made it fairly accessible since it is a little smaller than the new ratcheting one I bought recently.
Now the elevator is ready to be closed up with the front spars. I clecoed both sides in place to get ready for riveting. I riveted the ribs in first with the blind rivets and will finish up with the solid rivets next time.
