Brief Description: Riveting Stiffeners R/L Elevator Skins
Started off by riveting nothing...forgot to install a stiffener before back riveting the row of rivets. Then I installed several stiffeners with beautiful manufactured heads, but drove the last of one row with the work slipping off the back plate.
I was able to work out the crease…but you’d think I learned something by now. Of course the flaw is in the top skin, not the bottom where it should never be seen.
In the heat of battle, holding the skins away from each other while getting the rivet gun in position, one must be very careful that the work does not slide off the plate.
Also back riveted the E-615PP Trim Access Reinforcement Plate to the E-701L Left Skin. Appropriate holes were match drilled and dimpled prior to this assembly.
