Brief Description: final shaping, drilling and clecoing rudder skins
Installed the 0.040 doubler plate inside the bottom forward corner of the rudder. Bolted the rudder control horn into place. drilled some temporary (3/32 in.) holes and clecoed bottom skins into place so I can get a good visual fix on how the vertical fin skin is going to work with this rudder. Next steps will include forming the loops in the rudder control cables and fabricating the connector links go I can gauge exactly how much bending will be needed to align the rudder horn to the cable pull. This has to be done before final attachment of the rudder skins, because removing and replacing the rudder horn requires access through the skins.
