Brief Description:  input air flow ramp design

Now that I have the design of the pressure plenum more or less finalized, I am turning my attention to the ramp or other flow control devices to channel the input air from the cowl inlets. I have been looking all over the airport at any airplane with remotely similar airflows, and I am finding a lot of variation. Some planes have a ramp that directs the flow sharply upward, to go around the front bank of cylinders to pressurize the space above the engine, what I am calling the pressure plenum. Others use a flat plate going straight back from the lower edge of the cowl inlet, and allowing the air to flow freely past the cylinder fins there and only get into a pressure flow baffling for the aft cylinders. a complicating factor for me is that the oil filter is smack in the middle of that airflow on the starboard side, so I am going to have to decide whether to run a baffling ramp over the top of that filter, under that filter, or some other plan
