Brief Description:  review & evaluate first layer of fiberglass

the humbling from yesterday continues today. the good news was that i did get close to 100% coverage on the first layer. And in the areas where the peel ply was properly adhered, it left a very nice matte finish on the surface. but there were a lot of places where there were bubbles under the fiberglass, or wrinkles in the fiberglass, and a couple of places where the plies were not properly smoothed down. If I was going to try to continue with the lay-up and make this piece my actual cowl, I would have to figure out how to repair all those various defects. But now I am thinking that maybe I should finish laying up this part, but consider it to be a female mold for my eventual cowl. I can picture how to fix all these bubbles by filling them in with dry micro and sanding them smooth if this part is to be used as a female mold. I can't really figure out how to fix this and continue forward as the actual cowl. another benefit of using this current part as a mold is that I can work on the top half and bottom half separately, with both set up conveniently on a workbench instead of trying to work overhead on the actual airframe.
