Brief Description:  continued struggles with motor mount welding

Motor Mount 2.0 is another learning experience. It is better than rev 1.0, but still not as good as I want it to be. The main issue at this point is access for making the welds. I need a line of sight to see the pool, a line of approach to get the tig torch to the joint, and another line to feed the filler rod in, and getting those three lines around all the motor mount tubes and threaded rod is just not possible between the two solid surfaces of the assembly jig. I'm going to have to either cut some holes in the assembly jig I have, or maybe build a second assembly jig out of angle Iron or something more open. Actually as I sit here thinking out loud about this, it does make some sense to use my current assembly jig to get very precise placement of the standoffs, and do the initial tacking, and then move to a more open framework with just enough substance to keep out any distortion while I do the finish welding. So I guess that's the plan for MM 3.0.
