Brief Description: developing confined space weld techniques
Took a couple of steps to work through welding difficulties. I have had problems with getting my welding helmet inside the assembly jigs in order to see the weld pool on some of these welds obstructed by other tubes and/or the threaded rods of the assembly jig. I bought a set of cutting goggles and swapped out the #5 shade for a # 10 shade so I can use those goggles for tig welding. I made a fabric hood to protect the rest of my face and neck, so now I can actually get my head inside the assembly jig and hopefully see the weld pool much better. The better you see, the better you weld. Sorry these pictures are showing up at wierd angles, but that is sort of representative of the contortions I have to go through to weld on this mount.
