Finished and installed the axels. Or at least the axel prototypes. I am reasonably happy with the way these came out, and they will be fine while I'm building but I may make a better set before I fly with it. Image 1 below shows the first weld, which used no filler metal, just melted the bolt and base plate together as deeply as I could get it. I followed this up with a pass using filler metal to get it as close to flush as I could, just a little grinding required to get it nice and flat. Image 2 shows the finished axels, and Image 3 shows one installed with the brake caliper and holder.
