Reinstalled the mounting tray and connectors for the IFD440. Installed the IFD440.
Powered up the VPX and Skyview. Turned on the Avionics switch and watched the IFD400 power up.
Configured the IFD440 for the Skyview and G5. Configured the IFD440 for the ELT.
Removed the com 2 antenna and installed it in the com 1 position. Hooked up the com 1 coax. Functionally checked the IFD440 radio. It functioned properly but there was some noise in my handheld when transmitting with the IFD440 which appeared to be feedback. It disappeared when I covered the headset mic.
Updated the software version in the G5.
Temporarily hooked up the three nav/strobes and turned them on for functional check. The functioned properly. The strobes flashed in sync.
Removed the VOR/ILS coax, and landing, nav and strobe wires from the snap bushing the RH fuselage side (where it passes into the wing). Drilled a hole for a second snap bushing forward of the first one. Routed the Coax through the new snap bushing and rerouted the landing and nav/strobe lights through the original. Replaced the forward cabin floor. There was no longer any interference between the coax and passenger footwells.
Temporary hooked up the Skyview external dimmer knob. Changed the Skyview brightness configuration to external. Experimented with various settings for the knob and tested it out. The knob is very touchy near the low range (brightness would go from medium to low with one knob click). Still undecided if I'll use the external knob or not.
