Brief Description: Measured and cut the Push Rod lengths
An addustable push rod length tool is provided with the engine kit. Slide the push rod tool into one of the push rod tube until it reaches the bottom of its travel. Rotate the crank so that push rod tool is fully retrated as low as it will go (base on the valve closed). Reinstall and re-torque the rocker assembly. Once reassembled you can with your fingers adjust the push rod tool end fitting until it is holding the rocker arm swivel pad against the tip of the valve stem.
Remove the rocker arm assembly. Remove the pushrod lenth tool without disturbing the adjustments. This push rod lenth is set for all four push rods.
Measured and cut the Pushrod lengths with a cut off tool.Then clean the cut off area and make sure the tube is cleaned inside. Insert a tip onto each push rod. Apply lithium grease to the end of the pushrod and slide them into the the push rod tubes. Re-install the rocker assembly making sure to align the pushrods with the cups of the rocker arms. Tourque the rocker assembly retaining nuts.
Note: This process required several reviews of the manual and the video. The video was of the most value. Also I was happy to have Bob who has machine shop experience to mentor me through the rod cut-off process. Measure twice ( or mabe even 3 or 4 times) and cut once.
