Brief Description: Riveted turtledeck skins together
Riveted turtledeck skins together: After riveting I began fitting the skin to the fuselage. The plans indicate the top skins go inside the side skins against the longerons. This seems a bit odd since this could be a problem if exposed to rain. The water would tend to run down the top skin and then under the side skin getting inside the fuselage. Would think assembling the top skin over the side skins would prevent this possible leak problem. I have read others rivet the top skin outside the side skins so I may also do the same rather than follow the plans. Have heard Sonex technical support is OK with it either way.
Note: I'm just now getting back to building the OneX after taking the last4 months off. Has been a cold, long misserable winter here in the upper midwest so I have been staying home working on other projects rather than driving to the hangar and working on the OneX. Will probably take me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.
