Brief Description: Updrilled HS & VS together and to fuselage
Decided to updrill the HS & VS today. All went well, was concerned about hiting the predrilled holes including the holes for the AN4 nutplates in the bulkhead but everything went well. Updrilled in increments and final drill was with 1/4" reamer. I double checked the HS alignment and it was right on. The VS ended up good also, I did not try to add any offset to compensate for torque or P-Factor.
The T08-13 attach bracket supplied with the Machined Angle Kit is not usable. The flange is not cut with the correct angle (forward width too wide) so will have to make a new one. When I make the new one I will drill it in place to insure proper fit, will drill 4 holes on each longeron for mounting the part and then match drill the part to these holes insuring the part is up against the VS spar and the bottom of the longerons. Once drilled and clecoed to the longerons I will drill it to the VS spar and ream to AN3 size. Also need to drill the bottom attach angle to the VS spar since it was only predrilled to the longeron holes.
