Brief Description: Riveting the Horizontal Satbilizer
Today I riveted all the parts that were wet assembled yesterday. What a mess! The worst part though was that about every third rivet was bad and needed to be redone. I got better towards the end so I think it is just my technique that needs tweaking. So, I riveted the HS-411BPP, HS-412PP and HS-413PP hinge brackets, and the HS-609PP reinforcement bars to the HS-603PP rear spars. Also, the HS-405 main rib and the HS-404 nose rib to the HS-702 front spar. I then wet assembled the HS-706 and HS-707 ribs to the top of the skins to be riveted tomorrow. I also tried wiping off the excess sealant with MEK which worked well but also took off the primer. A bit annoying, but I had planned on giving it another shot of primer over the rivets anyway so its no big deal.
