Ouach ! When I pulled my wings that were stored all wrapped up in plastic, the discovery I made gave me the shivering ! On both wings thare had been humidity that formed under the plastic and over time introduced surface corrosion ... I am so happy I caught it in time but it cost me 8 hours of arm work ! Basically, where the plastic was in contact wirh the skin, it formed some surface corrosion.
After the panic stage passed, I pulled out my aluimi prephe alodine, grey & brown scotchbrite, 400 wet sand paper (aliminium oxyde), and removed all the surface oxydation that formed using strictly my arms to sand off slowly from one end to the other. Then I applied CR1200 or Alodine to seal it.
I have decided to store them in a new location: the ceiling of my home garage. I shall show you pictures next time. I plan to do this this week and ask a friend to help me with lifting them up.
Big lesson learned ... Now they will be stored in a dry and warm place until they will be painted.
