Ordered to Scotchbrite 7A maroon color buffing wheels and found that they were too stiff and removed too much material. Went to the local "cheap tools" store and bought a dozen different styles and shapes of buffing wheels. This cylinder shapped buffing wheel is perfect. It is made of material very similar to Scotchbrite yet soft enough to allow parts to work their way into the wheel...make grooves. For small parts, I mount the high speed drill to the table top and use it like a bench grinder. I mount large parts (skins and spars) to the table top and move the hand held "buffer" as needed. Of course I have to use the fine file on jagged edges first, but this tool will handle the post file work with great ease.
I found a domed version of this exact wheel. It smoothed every hole (all sizes) in all the VS ribs in about 30 minutes....with little effort on my part. Took me 4 times that long just to do the holes in the HS ribs. Wonderful tool. Buy several...see the worn out domed wheel below.
