After working on the mast, I need to install crush plugs into round tubing for the forward airframe. The plugs prevent the tubing from collapsing when tightening the bolts. First, I cleaned out any excess powder coat so the plugs would slide smoothly. I then took a piece of wood and shaped a blade on the end so the plug could be turned and have the holes line up. As it turned out, it was just as easy to align the hole prior to pushing it in and have the hole already lined up when the plug got to the right spot! So, after the 1st day, I have the crush plugs being held in by some old bolts (to be replaced with proper hardware when the forward fame is assembled) and my mast sleeves installed.
