I wanted to clean up the areas where fairings meet the aluminum. The gaps were pretty big and I wasn’t impressed with the fit from the fiberglass parts. I sanded down the parts and filled the areas with a fiberglass and micro-balloons mixture. This should allow we to sand these areas for a smooth contour. The left hand cowling had a hole cut out to be used for draining oil. I can’t imagine neglecting an opportunity to inspect the engine and do some preventative maintenance by means of removing the cowling. I glassed in the hole and said goodbye to lazy maintenance opportunities.
