Brief Description: Located & Drilled Lower Firewall, Pilot Drilled Sp
Tonight was again productive even though it was about 90F in the shop with very high humidity. It's weird to think back to about 2 months ago when I had the heater blasting each night while working on this project.
After sleeping and pondering the lower firewall install, I looked at it again with fresh eyes. I've leared to quit when I'm tired. I make too many mistakes and have learned that the project will be there for me the next day. I could clearly see that I needed to lightly trim each corner of the lower firewall to achieve a good fit. The corners are very sharp and were rubbing the motor mount fittings.
I also pilot drilled the aft fuselage to fwd fuselage splice plates. They will be secure, but the fit didn't turn out a cleanly as I had hoped. To finish the night, I put the fwd zee tunnel in place to check the fit. I'll start pilot drilling it tomorrow.
