Brief Description:  Engine cowling

Continued work on the engine cowling. The bottom cowl fit was adjusted slightly to center the opening around the prop hub. This was done by using a sanding block to remove a small amount of material on the left side.

The lower cowl was remounted and then remaining holes in the side attach hinges were drilled.

The lower portion of the cowl was moarked for rivets for the lower attach hinges. These holes were drilled.

The top cowl was fitted by sanding a little material at a time from the edge that meets the firewall. This required repetetive romving the cowl, sanding, fitting back to the airplane, noting the next area that needed to be sanded, and so on and so on until the fit was good.

The baffle attach brackets were removed and the plenum trial fitted on the engine with the top cowl over. This looks like it will work fine but I will have to modify the baffles a bit.

The lower cowl was morked for rivets for the attach hinges that join the upper and lower cowls. The hinge was clamped on and then drilled to the cowl.

Rivet holes on the right side of the lower cowl were countersunk.
